Contextualizing this with information on events, conventions, and meetings helps you better understand traveler motivation.
This module will help you understand where your visitors are coming from and where are they going, so that you can understand how visitors and residents are moving through the points of interest in your destination.

- Where are visitors going within my destination?
A visitor is defined as a device that is more than 30 miles from their home or work location. They have to spend 2+ hours within the defined boundary and are observed at a defined point of interest. Visitor-to-Resident Ratio shows the volume of visitors compared to the volume of residents. The higher the number, the more visitors compared to residents. This insight is not tied to the "Region" or "Trip Type" filter. Tip: Click into a region to understand visitation and visitor to resident ratio trends by city within the region. -
What types of places are visitors going within my destination?
Visitor-to-Resident Ratio shows the volume of visitors compared to the volume of residents. The higher the number, the more visitors compared to residents. This insight is not tied to the "Category" or "Trip Type" filter. Tip: Click into the % visitors to understand the top 10 DMAs where visitors are coming from. Click into the Visitor-to-Resident Ratio to understand the top points of interest based on Visitor-to-Resident Ratio. -
Of my top points of interest, which see more visitors and which see more residents?
The size of the bubble indicates total visitor and resident counts, the larger the bubble, the more visitation. Only primary points of interest are included on this chart. This insight is not tied to origin market (Country, County, City, DMA) or "Trip Type" filters. If nothing appears in the chart when a Primary Category is selected, it is likely that you have no primary points of interest within that category. Tip: Click into any point of interest to understand the top origin markets. Select different POI Categories within the filter to see like points of interest. -
