This might sound more complicated than it actually is...
What is an Origin Market?
An origin market is where the visitors are from. You want to note that the origin markets are representative of the DMA (designated market area), not literal city limits from which the visitor is coming. For example, the Los Angeles DMA actually stretches far beyond the LA city limits. Or if you see an origin market of Chicago, IL, it is referring to visitors who come from the Chicago DMA, not necessarily the city of Chicago. Understanding more information about where the visitors to your destination are from will help you better understand your visitor economy!
You can also look at this information on DMAs.
