This might sound more complicated than it actually is...
What is an Origin Market?
An origin market is where the visitors are from. You want to note that the origin markets are representative of the Market Areas, not literal city limits from which the visitor is coming. For example, the Los Angeles Market Area actually stretches far beyond the LA city limits. Or if you see an origin market of Chicago, IL, it is referring to visitors who come from the Chicago Market Area, not necessarily the city of Chicago. Understanding more information about where the visitors to your destination are from will help you better understand your visitor economy!
