The insights look at who your visitors are and the impact they make on your destination

 

In this module, you will see: 

• An overview of how your visitors are engaging with your destination 
• An overview of information on who your visitors are (including demographic information)

Follow these steps to understand your Visitor Profile: 

 

Step 1: Use the date filter at the top to select what timeframe you would like a visitor profile for. If you want to narrow down to a specific area within your destination, choose from the county or city filter.

Pro-tip: Start with something more high-level like "Last 12 months" and all counties and cities-- This means you have more data in your sample size!

 

Step 2: Evaluate the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the profile of your visitor. These tell you some overall numbers about your visitors during this timeframe. The "Observations" KPI shows what percent of the observations (pings of data) from devices (such as phones) in your destination came from visitors (as opposed to residents). The "Spend" KPI shows what percent of all the spending in your destination on key tourism-related categories came from visitors. "Average Spend" shows the average transaction amount by visitors in tourism-related categories.

 

Pro Tip: This module will tell you about your visitor behavior compared to your resident behavior. Interpret your KPIs like this example below...

Step 3: View the map to understand where your visitors came from. You can hover over the chart to see more details, and there is a full table of data by Market Area below.

Step 4: View your demographic information to understand more about age ranges, income levels, and households with children.

Step 5: View the next charts to understand where visitors are going within your destination. 

Pro Tip: Use the sliders to access additional charts, and click to drill in to see more details.

Step 6: Review your data on how your visitors are spending money. The KPIs will show what percent of all the spending in particular categories comes from visitors, as opposed to residents.
