December 16, 2022 Release Notes

It seems fitting that our final Release Note of 2022 leads with an update to the Foundations: Destination Management module. We spent much of this year espousing the importance of The Five Foundations of a Contemporary DMO and central to the five foundations are establishing new success metrics for effective Destination Management.

In fact, there is no more fundamental success metric that the ZDOS® provides than: “What is the visitor impact on your destination?” Providing clarity on this one thing is paramount to everything we do at Zartico.

Therefore, in order to provide the clearest view of the visitor economy we’ve polished the insight “What is the visitor impact on your destination?” within the Foundations: Destination Management module as follows:

  • The description of this insight has been rewritten to be more precise.
  • “Share of Visitor Spend by Category” has undergone a name change (previously titled “Share of Visitor Spend & Visitor Wallet by Category”). And we renamed “Share of Visitor Wallet” metric to “Visitor Spending % of Total.”
    • Reordered the metrics so “Visitor Spending % of Total” is first, as the insight is sorted by this metric.
    • This same insight previously only displayed the Top 5 categories - we’re now showing all categories.

Marketing: Website Contribution - The "Top Converting Website Content Topics" insight filter has been removed, now showing all mediums rather than just organic.

  • Excluded non-US DMA & “Unknown City” from visitation insights.
  • Added axis titles to the "Content Topic to POI Category Visitation" insight. This change will make it easier to see the relationship between the web category and POI category.

Guide: Your Destination Module - Added a merchant credit card drill-in to the “Top 5 Spend Categories” insight. This drill-in will show the top MCC categories within the broader spend category.

  • And, we’ve updated the Sample Size reference note for uniformity with other Modules.

Lodging: Hotel - Monthly - fixed a bug 🐛 that was blocking the legend in two insights from appearing (ADR/RevPAR bar chart and the Demand/Supply bar chart).

Marketing: Social Media - fixed a bug 🐜that was intermittently causing Facebook Ad data to duplicate.
