How are Employees Filtered from Passenger Data?

The goal is to give you the clearest view of passenger movement and data unimpeded by employee data. Considering how many airport and airline employees would be seen within the observation areas, our data science team has developed a way to filter employees from the Inbound and Outbound device observations.

 

Our employee filtering system will look at ALL observations of a particular device over a month. If more than 33% of their TOTAL observations occur within the airport, we’ll flag them as an employee, and remove them from the insights the FOLLOWING month. A device must be seen more than four times before the 33% threshold is applied.

This process will be refreshed each month to stay current. A device flagged as an employee at one airport will not be flagged as an employee at another airport.
