August 3, 2023 Release Notes

We have streamlined your ZDOS™ application, reducing clutter, updating chart colors, and overall making your insights easier to navigate and understand.

We’ve cleaned the insights in ZDOS to provide a more straightforward experience for you. Some of our less frequently used insights have been removed, and insights of value have been transferred to other modules.

Here are the insights removed…

    • Marketing: Planning:

      • Visitation % by Year / Visitation % by Year

      • Seasonal Visitation by Region - Selected Visitor DMA - Last Year

    • Trends: Visitor Spending:

      • CCS - Visitor Spend Children by Season / Visitor Spending Seasonality by Visitors With or Without Children

      • Average visitor spending by Age & Income

    • Lodging: Hotel - Weekly:

      • All KPIs at the top of the module

      • ADR by Day of Week

      • Demand by Day of Week

      • Revenue by Day of Week

      • Occupancy by Day of Week

    • Foundations: Demand Generation:

      • Seasonality In Visitation By Origin Market

      • Destination Activities by Week

We have updated the appearance of the ZDOS to make it visually easier to intrepret.

Here are the changes you can expect to see…

  • All simple bar charts (bar charts with just one metric): We changed the color from blue to evergreen, added a Top 5 filter to clean up the look, and created a corresponding table to display the same data for the full data set. We’ve made this an insight slider so you can toggle from the chart to the table.

  • All charts with continuous data (anything plotting data over a time period): We’ve changed the color from blue to evergreen, changed the chart type to a filled-in line chart, removed the notation of data points, and added clearer data labels if it’s monthly data.

  • We have removed “3.0” from the name of your destination’s ZDOS at the top-- It is still the 3.0 version of ZDOS that you see, but we thought even a few less characters in your ZDOS would help it be that much easier on the eye.

We have also added more user-friendly URLs of your place-based maps inside of the Visualization: Resources module-- your previous links will also work.

Non-State partners now have the option to purchase the Political District Module as an add-on. Filter data by political districts such as city council or county commission. These insights can be incredibly helpful to advocate for destination efforts with your elected officials. We’ll be sharing more about this in the coming weeks — reach out to your sales representative to learn more.

💳 Our data partners at Affinity recently added 4 million new cardholders to our spending pipeline! More transactions mean improved spending coverage, bringing even more clarity to the picture of your visitor economy.

This may introduce small changes such as increased sample size and enhanced available data that would reflect aspects of your data-- if you notice a slight shift in Average Spend this might be why. Adding more to our sample size will benefit you by giving you that next level of enhancement to your data!
