August 18, 2023 Release Notes

This week’s ZDOS™ update fixes some bugs and adds more ways to filter your data!

Filter changes...

Did you know there are 31 different counties around the US named "Washington County"?!? There are 26 named "Jefferson County"! 🤯

It turns out that in the US we like to name our counties after former presidents, with the top names being Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Jackson, and Lincoln... 🇺🇸

That sure makes it hard to search by county and make sure you gave the right one, though! To help solve for this we have made it possible for you to see the state with the county name, making it easier for you to know you've picked the right one from the filter at the top.

You can see City and State more clearly in dropdown filters:

  • Cities and counties that appear in your filters (such as the Visitor City and Visitor County filters) are now paired with their state name. You will no longer have to guess if you’re selecting the correct Franklin, Arlington, or another common place name.

Resident-Focused Insights (ZDOS™ Destination only):

We also added the ability to filter for resident activity in the Visitor Flow module, helping you see more about what your residents are up to! 👀

  • We integrated resident data into the Trends: Visitor Flow Module. Updated insights will include total visitation, with a Visitor Resident Metric filter at the top of the module. The Visitor Resident Metric filter will be set by default to Visitors.

  • This change empowers destinations to choose the observations they consider when looking at geolocation data — including visitors who may reside within our 50-mile default radius, or resident movement that may be a valuable metric for economic development or other needs.
